The Cordero family history website is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the family of Mariano Cordero and Juana Pinto, the progenitors of many Cordero families in California and in Santa Barbara in particular. Mariano Cordero was a soldado de cuera, a leather-jacket soldier, and one of the first Corderos born in Baja California. Juana Pinto arrived in 1775 with the Juan Bautista de Anza expedition.
